AISICO obtains Accredia accreditation for DIN SPEC 91414-1:2021-04 on Vehicle Security Barriers

AISICO is pleased to announce that its Laboratory has obtained Accredia accreditation for the DIN SPEC 91414-1:2021-04 standard, further expanding its portfolio of accredited testing activities in the field of infrastructure and public space protection.

The standard represents an important reference for the testing and qualification of mobile vehicle security barriers, systems specifically designed to protect public spaces against hostile vehicle intrusions and unauthorized access.

As urban security challenges continue to evolve, public authorities, infrastructure operators, event organizers, and manufacturers increasingly require reliable and independently verified solutions capable of ensuring effective protection for pedestrian areas, public gatherings, institutional buildings, and critical infrastructure.

The DIN SPEC 91414-1:2021-04 standard establishes the technical and performance requirements that vehicle security barriers must satisfy in order to provide effective mechanical protection against vehicle-borne threats.

One of the key assessments included in the standard is the manipulation test, which simulates an attack performed by one or more individuals with the objective of significantly reducing or compromising the protective function of the barrier. The test evaluates the system’s resistance to intentional tampering attempts and verifies its ability to maintain its security performance even under adverse conditions.

The achievement of this accreditation further confirms AISICO’s technical expertise and reinforces its position as an independent testing laboratory supporting manufacturers, public institutions, and infrastructure operators in the development, validation, and certification of innovative vehicle security solutions.

By expanding its accredited capabilities in this field, AISICO continues to contribute to the improvement of safety standards and to the protection of public spaces and critical infrastructure worldwide.

Supporting safer public spaces

With this new accreditation, AISICO strengthens its commitment to research, testing, and certification activities aimed at addressing emerging security challenges and supporting the development of increasingly effective protective technologies for urban environments.
